If there was one memorable theatrical event in the catalan theater in 2009, it was the première of Hikikomori in the Villarroel suite. The play reflects the phenomenon of social withdrawal which is swiftly becoming a very real problem in Japanese society and one that soon could also become a reality here in Spain. On march 13th last year we opened in our restaurant La Gran Nit de la Croqueta, a very special diner, which was featured in the opening scene of the Official Catalan Club of the Croquette. Several acts will take place here.
On december 17th 2008, L'Auca was proud to host the signing of Jordi Anglí and Àngel Peix’s latest book La Cuina de la Boqueria. The event was a roaring success and included guest appearances from celebrity chef Carles Gaig, actress Carme Abril and the catalan rock group Gossos.
On december 12th 2008, L'Auca was proud to host a very special guest, the President of the Generalitat. The Very Honorable Mr. José Montilla, celebrated the Christmas season with his team over dinner at L'Auca. The President demonstrated his appreciation by asking to be photographed with the L'Auca team.
Catalan band ‘Gossos’ have set the bar for Catalan music. They received a gold record award for their latest album ‘Metamorphosis’. 2008 has been a very special year for the band from Manresa. Not only did it mark their 15th anniversary which they celebrated in concert at the auditorium (live recordings of the event are available on CD and DVD), but they were also awarded best Catalan group of 2008 and best song for 'Corre' from their previous album 'Oxígen’. The group celebrated their achievements over dinner at Ferre owned restaurant L’Auca. Congratulations Gossos!!!
